Community Guidelines

Last Updated: 2 October 2026

SAYONS exists to encourage open, honest and respectful discussion.

Different opinions are welcome. Disagreement is welcome. Personal attacks, harassment and harmful content are not.

These Community Guidelines apply to discussions, comments, replies, polls, profiles and other user-generated content on SAYONS.

1. Be Respectful

You may disagree with someone’s opinion.

You should not attack, insult, threaten or humiliate another person because of their views.

Challenge the idea, not the person.

2. No Harassment or Bullying

Do not use SAYONS to:

  • Harass or repeatedly target another user
  • Bully or intimidate someone
  • Encourage others to attack a person
  • Make threats
  • Engage in abusive personal campaigns

3. No Hate Speech

Do not attack or promote hatred against individuals or groups based on characteristics such as:

  • Religion
  • Race or ethnicity
  • Nationality
  • Gender
  • Sexual orientation
  • Disability
  • Other protected characteristics

SAYONS welcomes discussion about difficult social and political issues, but discussion must remain respectful.

4. No Threats or Incitement

Content that threatens violence or encourages violence, harm or illegal activity may be removed.

Where appropriate, serious violations may be reported to relevant authorities.

5. Don’t Share Private Information

Do not post another person’s private or sensitive information without permission.

This includes things such as:

  • Private phone numbers
  • Home addresses
  • Passwords
  • Financial information
  • Private documents
  • Other personal information intended to remain private

6. Avoid Misleading Information

Users are encouraged to check important claims before presenting them as facts.

When discussing news, politics, public affairs or controversial issues:

  • Distinguish opinions from facts
  • Avoid deliberately misleading claims
  • Where possible, provide credible sources
  • Correct significant errors when you become aware of them

SAYONS may remove content that is deliberately deceptive or harmful.

7. Spam and Self-Promotion

Do not use SAYONS primarily for:

  • Repeated advertisements
  • Spam
  • Fake engagement
  • Unwanted promotional messages
  • Repeated posting of the same content
  • Manipulating polls or discussions

Relevant and genuine sharing is welcome.

8. No Illegal or Harmful Content

Do not use SAYONS to promote or facilitate illegal activities or to share content that could cause serious harm.

9. Political and Current-Affairs Discussions

SAYONS welcomes discussion about politics, elections, government, public institutions and current affairs.

However:

  • Respect other people’s views
  • Do not threaten or harass political opponents
  • Do not deliberately spread false information
  • Do not impersonate public officials or other individuals
  • Do not use the platform to encourage violence

Political discussion should focus on ideas, policies, events and evidence, not personal abuse.

10. Polls Should Be Genuine

Polls should be created to encourage genuine discussion.

Users should not attempt to manipulate poll results through fake accounts, bots or coordinated fraudulent activity.

11. Report Content

If you believe a discussion, comment or account violates these guidelines, please use the available Report feature or contact SAYONS.

When reporting content, provide enough information for the moderation team to understand the concern.

12. Moderation

SAYONS may review and take action on content that violates these guidelines or applicable law.

Depending on the circumstances, actions may include:

  • Removing content
  • Limiting visibility
  • Removing comments
  • Restricting an account
  • Suspending an account
  • Permanently banning an account

Serious or repeated violations may result in stronger action.

13. Appeals

Where an account or content is restricted, SAYONS may provide an opportunity to contact the platform regarding the decision, subject to the moderation process available at that time.

14. These Guidelines May Change

As SAYONS grows, these guidelines may be updated to address new types of abuse, features or community needs.

The latest version will be published on this page.

Our Principle

Speak freely. Listen openly. Disagree respectfully.
